Sore abs

Holy smokes my abs are S-O-R-E today!! I feel it everywhere, even in my sides!! Its the kind of soreness where it even hurts to laugh so nothing funny today! :-) I love the feeling though because it means I actually worked something!
We spent last night inside-- I can't complain w. a bottle of prosecco!
We made some ready made Bingham's salmon and haddock fish cakes and a fish pie. I also sauteed some peppers and microwaved brown rice.
the fish cakes were alright- sort of bland though even with the mayo dipping sauce.
I enjoyed the fish pie- it had some salmon and another kind of white fish with creamy mash potatoes. Yum!
I had some dates w. almond butter this morning thinking I was going to go for a run but it started raining.. HARD! :( Boo! I guess it meant I could have a real breakfast w. T

Sonoma was all upset too because we were going to take her to the Heath so she could run around but she's stuck inside with nothing but a yoga matt to lay on :**(
Cheese and onion 2 egg omelette w. truffled quail egg on top.
on top of hummus spread toast
It was mighty delicious!!

Agenda: practice some routines for zumba, relax, lunch, read more of my book (The Help-it's really good!!)

Amor Amor Amor

more dates and almond butter= perfect fuel prior to subbing another zumba class. I'm still trying to find a balance of teaching zumba, practicing for it, AND working out on my own. Right now I feel like I might be pushing myself too hard but I can't seem to shake this incessant need to learn more choreography. My body won't stop moving even if I tried to tell it to stop!! :) Tis a hard knock life, hehehe...
Lunch: Bigham's chicken and mushroom pie with a side of soy sauced bok choy.
the lazy streak continues w. another ready made meal!! Hey at least I didn't stop by Pret this time...
chocolate cake for dessert w. a glass of milk. I polished off the milk but only had a few bites of the cake--it looks amazing but it didn't really taste that great. I felt like they failed at an attempt to make an oreo themed cake.
sigh.. and it had so much potential!
dinner was spinach cannelloni for deux..I like Bigham's addition of seeds for some more yummy texture
and a Margherita pizza express pizza for ME! I swear I'm not eating for two.. I just think I burned enough calories last night to deserve more FOOD!!

T made breakfast this morning as I was still trying to wake up. Yawwwwnnn............
spiced eggs for breakfast w. whole wheat toast

Gym: Back and Chest
  • seated low pulley row
  • machine chest press
  • straight arm pulldown
  • incline dumbbell press
  • Rest 1 minute and repeat 2 more times
  • Lat Pulldown
  • incline dumbbell fly
  • barbell upright row
  • dumbbell front raise
  • Rest 1 minute and repeat 2 more times
  • STRETCH!!
after the gym, I had some roasted cauliflower and broccoli with another ready made pizza express pizza. This time it was a ham, olive, and mushroom one. I took off most of the ham but left a few salty pieces.
I almost burned both the pizza and the veggies. BAH! I guess I still haven't figured out our oven temperature settings...

Song of the day: Kema- No me dejas solo (damn I wish I understood more Spanish!)

Dates and Almond butter= perfection!

I haven't finished a book in two days for a reaaaallly reaaaaaaaaaaaaaly long time. As in maybe when I was a teenager and into reading like it was my job
Remember these?
Some of my old time faves. Anyway, the book was a very easy read. It's funny, charming, tear jerking at times, and heartwarming. I would definitely recommend reading it! I can't wait for the movie to come out :)

I stopped by Pret after teaching Zumba to get a tuna sandwich and some tomato soup.
Their tomato soup is actually pretty good. It has chunks of soft tomato and is not as acidic like most tomato soups I've had. Delish! So I went all the way out to Wimbledon, taking over an hour to get there and was greeted by ONE person. I guess lucky for her it was a one on one class but I seriously think I could hear the crickets, ha!
snack before teaching Zumba class numero dos.
holy crap whoever thought of putting almond butter and dates together is a GENIUS! It's a great tasting combo AND it helped keep me full and provided me with some natural sugar energy for my class.
okay, this eating out business is getting absurd. I'm so lazy!! Maybe because it's almost 8:30 by the time I come home and I really don't want to cook! I stopped by Royal Thai again and ordered the green chicken curry this time. So the curry wasn't so good because it was watery and lacked that thick awesome curry flavor but I love bamboo shoots so I didn't complain too much.
aaaand more fried veggie spring roll goodness.
I awoke this morning to find T working hard in the kitchen. I think I woke up because the house smelled like food. Man, my nose is good! He made us eggs sweetened with mirin, sesame oil, smoked turkey, avocado, and togarashi. It was innnnteresting and pretty good. T wasn't too impressed with himself but I liked it because it was different!

Agenda: Gym, study, start reading my next book (House at Riverton), teach Zumba, GHOST STORIES! Man, I've been wanting to see this since its been out and we're finally going tonight. So excited that I think I actually had a scary dream last night in anticipation for tonight. NO JOKE!
