Dogs need love too

Teriyaki beef for lunch
all those veggies come w. the Teriyaki beef-- makes my life so much more simpler :)

sauteed peppers w. evoo, salt and pepper. The sweetness of the peppers really shine through w. the minimal seasoning.
After lunch, I spent most of the rainy afternoon finishing The Help. It was such a GREAT book. I highly recommend it and btw.. grab some tissues. Either I'm PMS'ing or it really is that much of a tear jerker!

Dinner:
more Bighams..
I made sure to prepare lots and lots of veggies so I wouldn't feel a huge void of no carbs at dinner :( I usually eat something like pasta or brown rice w. my main but its time to change that rule!!
I added some spinach to the Moroccan chicken tagine for more substance

sauteed veggies in evoo, sesame oil, soy sauce, and siracha

T's plate: I added some brown rice to his plate because I think its unwise for him since he's so big (in a good way) and he needs those extra calories!
The trick is to make yourself think you're eating a lot of food. Technically this is a big plate but half of it is veggies!
Dogs need love too yo!
don't mind that huge mess she's making on the couch, argh!!!

After dinner, I watched another movie.. I'm on some movie kick or somethin..
It was actually kind of enjoyable.. I wouldn't watch it again per say but I thought it was light hearted and cute!
I also made a breakfast cookie for a snack tomorrow before I teach zumba. Recipe courtesy of:
http://fitnessista.com/the-fitnessista-cookbook/the-breakfast-cookie/
  • 1/3 scoop oats
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1/2 scoop chocolate protein whey
  • Mix together into a crumbly mixture then add----
  • 1/8 skim milk
  • Toppings: raisins, 2 squares of dark chocolate broken into little pieces
Spread evenly on a small plate and then pop it in the fridge overnight. I've tried this before last year and it was a nice sweet breakfast. Its even more perfect as an afternoon sweet treat.

T made me breakfast this morning because I slept in til almost 9!! I feel like I never do that.. Holy crap.
sunny side up with cinnamon and all spice. Yum!
Check out that duck egg! The yolk was definitely creamier and bigger than our usual eggs.

Agenda: zumba, take Noms to the park, zumba teach, salsa class

Amor Amor Amor

more dates and almond butter= perfect fuel prior to subbing another zumba class. I'm still trying to find a balance of teaching zumba, practicing for it, AND working out on my own. Right now I feel like I might be pushing myself too hard but I can't seem to shake this incessant need to learn more choreography. My body won't stop moving even if I tried to tell it to stop!! :) Tis a hard knock life, hehehe...
Lunch: Bigham's chicken and mushroom pie with a side of soy sauced bok choy.
the lazy streak continues w. another ready made meal!! Hey at least I didn't stop by Pret this time...
chocolate cake for dessert w. a glass of milk. I polished off the milk but only had a few bites of the cake--it looks amazing but it didn't really taste that great. I felt like they failed at an attempt to make an oreo themed cake.
sigh.. and it had so much potential!
dinner was spinach cannelloni for deux..I like Bigham's addition of seeds for some more yummy texture
and a Margherita pizza express pizza for ME! I swear I'm not eating for two.. I just think I burned enough calories last night to deserve more FOOD!!

T made breakfast this morning as I was still trying to wake up. Yawwwwnnn............
spiced eggs for breakfast w. whole wheat toast

Gym: Back and Chest
  • seated low pulley row
  • machine chest press
  • straight arm pulldown
  • incline dumbbell press
  • Rest 1 minute and repeat 2 more times
  • Lat Pulldown
  • incline dumbbell fly
  • barbell upright row
  • dumbbell front raise
  • Rest 1 minute and repeat 2 more times

after the gym, I had some roasted cauliflower and broccoli with another ready made pizza express pizza. This time it was a ham, olive, and mushroom one. I took off most of the ham but left a few salty pieces.
I almost burned both the pizza and the veggies. BAH! I guess I still haven't figured out our oven temperature settings...

Song of the day: Kema- No me dejas solo (damn I wish I understood more Spanish!)
