Deok Guk

It was New Year's Day and my family was in search of a traditional Korean meal that is served on New Year's Day called Deok guk. Wiki and I have a fight going on as to whether its Deok Guk or Tteokguk. It's probably neither!

You press this heart button and the hat changes colors! Sigh.. we find amusement in the oddest of places
After calling possibly every restaurant in Central London AND New Malden (Bueller...Bueller), we finally found a place open near Soho.
Just our New Year's Day luck! The restaurant did NOT have our soup. :(
They did have these cute paper wrapped decorations tho.
We started with the usual suspects: Jap-Chae- salty, sweet, and full of wonderful sesame flavor
Pajun- it was waaaaay undercooked but the flavors were there so thats unfortunate.

I ordered Jam-pong, a thick noodle spicy dish with an assorted array of seafood. Overall, Naru just doesn't hold up to all the other restaurants I've been to: Myung-Ga, Ran, Koba, Arang, etc. This was probably my least favorite place out of the bunch so I won't be going back.
We spotted another space invader as we were walking past. I'm such a nerd when it comes to these things. I love these guys!

After dinner, we watched TRON
The movie was pretty badass for not having known anything about the plot or the first movie that came out in the 80's. Bt dubs, where can I find me one of these bikes? heh heh..

Lunch @ PHO

Spring rolls
 Prawn crackers
Spicy traditional pho pronounced "Fuh!" They even gave me a bib so I wouldn't splash all that spicy gunk onto my shirt. I don't think I've worn a bib since I was like 2? :o)
The best thing about Vietamese food is the fresh garnish. I love fresh cilantro, the crunch of bean sprouts, and squeeze of fresh lime juice.
Pho was decent but I think somewhere out there, there's better. The noodles of the PHO dish were thick and I don't think typical of what is used. I could be wrong though.. :P

Time to work out! I haven't been to the gym in three. whole. days!! Probably the longest stretch in 6 months.

Song of the day: Nicki Minaj "Save Me"
