GLEE!

So the Glee concert was amaaazing last night. I wanted to shoot myself in the foot though because I forgot my camera and the stars just happened to switch from the main stage to the middle stage right in FRONT OF US!! Grrr...  All I could do was take really really crappy pictures on my Iphone- Blergh.. Just my luck!
"Mercedes" sounded just as good live as she does on the show.
I was sort of freaking out when the Warblers came on stage. Am I a little girl or what!
They of course performed Teenage Dream *heart swoooooon!*

I'm not really sure why I'm even posting these blurry pictures.. maybe for really crap evidence?
Yes, I could have touched Darren Criss arm but I was too busy taking this really amazing photograph. Lol..
I think Lea Michele is my favorite voice on the show. Her voice gives me goosebumps most of the time!
The concert was really enjoyable even though we were surrounded by kids half our age, ha!

Some of yesterday's eats:
Okay I swear yesterday was the last time I'm going to get Pret's tuna salad (because I'm going to make one at home myself!)
They left out the grilled beans!! Bummer..
with a side of my favorite chips!
and I mixed in some pretzels :-)
dessert
this is an awesome Hagen Daas flavor w. chunks of graham crackers.. yum!
afternoon snack: toast w. aubergine spread and mexican chilli soup
I think this is supposed to go on pasta but its really good on toasted bread!!

Dinner: takeaway from Meza Express
http://www.mezzaexpress-nw1.co.uk/
Grilled meats
with hummus
Everything was really delicious but I'm beginning to think that I've been eating too much meat lately. I've been reading my beauty detox book and one of the suggestions is to switch to a predominately plant based diet. There are numerous studies out there that show a correlation between certain types of cancer and an increased consumption of animal/meat products. I don't think I can give up meat entirely but I don't see myself having a problem with consuming it maybe three or four times a week instead of everyday like I usually do. Anyways.. just a thought!
She's reading it through osmosis :-D
I made some pancakes for breakfast this morning. I heart fluffy buttermilk pancakes!

I made some plain and dark chocolate chip cakes

Agenda: Run around Regent's (I'm going to use my new GymBoss to do some intervals!!), Zumba, Bachata class, Relax!

Shandis restaurant

After my Zumba class, we went out to dinner at Shandish, a Persian restaurant on Upper Street. I had a huge glass of red and T had a sour yogurt drink- blegh! :-D I don't think I like these yogurt drinks he always seems to order.
http://www.shandispersianrestaurant.co.uk/
We got the hummus and a warm aubergine dip with walnuts to start. I was SO hungry!
this dip was delicious- I can't quite describe the taste but the texture was really smooth and creamy. Yuuuuumm!!
Naan as big as yo face to dip
We got the grilled meats platter to share
the chicken wings were my favorite
We both thought that the flavor of the meats were alright. The meats were tender but nothing really had any sparkle to it. My rice also tasted a bit like soap- I swear I'm not joking! T also thought everything could have used more saffron and yogurt. Overall the food was enjoyable but not our favorite. Plus- a server of ours could have DEFINITELY used an attitude adjustment. Listen here lady AHEM*****- you WORK in a service industry, the least you could do is SMILE :) A friendly smile goes a long way!
After dinner, we rushed off to see Bridesmaids which I thought was flipping HILARIOUS! I loved it- aka literally laughed out loud at most parts, which I'm sure T loved. I would highly recommend seeing it. I like that it had a heartwarming (best friend) element to balance out a very funny movie.
Breakfast was a failed attempt at fried eggs- they ended up being slightly scrambled/fried :-D At least it was still tasty! Time to get my zumba on and then it's the GLEE concert tonight at the 02!!
My favorite Glee songs: The Only Exception, Teenage Dream, Faithfully, When I get you Alone, Forget You

Pret A Manger addict

Recent eats from Sainsbury's salad counter
cucumbers, lentils, beets, beans, tomatoes, quinoa salad, carrots, fusilli pasta, peas, edamame, grapes, melon. There was lots of ingredients but it all went so well together. Yum! I felt so healthy eating everything :-D
T made us a shallot and mature cheddar cheese omelet. His omelets are da bomb. yes DA BOMB! he he.
I had 1/2 a sesame bagel w/ light cream cheese w. my omelet half.

After doing some zumba, I picked up a salad from Pret a Manger. I've been on a Pret kick lately. I can't seem to make myself eat anything else!
I tried their tuna nicoise salad for the first time. It was quite delicious!
My guilty pleasure..there's something about the salt and vinegar combination that I lurrve!
grilled beans, cucumbers, potatoes, red onions, tomatoes, eggs, and tuna with a creamy vinaigrette dressing.
Apparently the salad wasn't filling enough because I made a mid afternoon snack of asparagus soup (with some siracha squeezed in-weird I know!!) and some wheat germ toast w. an aubergine pesto on top. Mmm mmm!

I taught zumba yesterday to a ridiculous amount of girls. It was crazy packed! I'm not quite sure how they had enough room to move but it was my first time teaching to that many people. It was a bit overwealming but nothing I hope I can't manage with a little bit of practice and experience.
a lil present from T. Poor Noma- I took her to the park this morning and she ended up ripping a nail so I had to rush her to the vet. Blergh! This is her second ripped nail!! Either I'm doing something wrong or she's too rambunctious for her own good. Fortunately, all the vet had to do was give the nail a quick yank and it was out. I literally plugged my ears and turned away so I didn't have to listen to her poor little scream (plus I'm a baby!!). :( She's resting comfortably now. Sigh..
soft scrambled eggs w. 1/2 a bagel prior to the gym

Gym workout: Tone it Up's Self Magazine workout
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq1g84wLbQY
I picked up another tuna salad from Pret after the gym. I'm officially addicted.
Yummers!

Agenda: Zumba practice, teaching Zumba class, dinner, movie night!!
I heard great things about this movie so I'm dragging T to go see it w. me. Muahhahaha!!

Wimbledon

We accidentally stumbled upon this cute Italian restaurant on Goodge street for dinner Monday night. T hates dropping in to restaurants without knowing its reputation but since it was getting pretty late, we decided to tempt fate!
I had some high hopes..
http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/restaurants/restaurant-1043.php
bottle of red to start
their cheese garlic bread was out of this world good! It wasn't on the menu but we asked them to put mozzarella cheese on it; they graciously obliged
calamari with a squeeze of lemon. The calamari pieces were nice and hearty- cooked really well!
I had the spaghetti with lobster and it was DIVINE. I thought the sauce was amazing- perfect balance of tomato and creme (sometimes the sauce can be too tomato-y!). Some of the lobster pieces were a tab bit chewy but overall I really enjoyed the dish
T's breaded veal and spaghetti bolognase

We arrived at Wimbledon the next morning at 10 and we were with some 9,000 people who had already arrived.
No Mr. End of Queue man!! We were told that we might not get in til 5 p.m. but we took our chances.
People had already started camping to get in the next morning- crazy peeps!
the line was long but at least the weather held up.
We finally got in around 3 p.m.
I loved how super close you could get to the players. General admission all the way baby!

Woo Hoo!! H.O.T.T.I.E!!! ;-)
I'm not exactly sure who these players are but hey it was fun to watch them play.
Everyone was cheering for this Rik guy from South Africa. Geez "go rik" "yeah rik" "you can do it rik"
boys will be boys!

I was super stoked to see Sharpova on center court. We got amazing tickets through the ticket resale line- I think we were the closest out of anyone in our group. Ammaazeballs!! She killed it and I mean literally won the match in two sets. :-D
Bummer that I couldn't get better pictures even from how close we were!!! Stupid lens!

Maria serves crazy fast!
I got to hear her famous grunt in person-its not as bad as I thought it would be. I mean she hits the ball pretty hard so I think the sounds are justified.
the match was over in about an hour!

Everyone was in a great mood after the match- what fun times!
strawberries and creme- a wimbledon must eat. It was alright actually, I expected the strawberries to be sweeter. I don't really like just plain creme on strawberries. Maybe if it was whipped creme? he he he..

T and I got back and were STARVING. We picked up some kebabs from our local place.

grilled haloumi cheese

It's been a tiring but really fun week since T's family has been here. I'm not sure what I'm going to do when the house is quiet!!

Agenda: nap, zumba, Kings of Leon!!
