Super Bowl Champs...

Korean food makes Hanna a happy happy hippo.
The usual suspects.
The pajun tasted a bit wholemealy (not a word. yes I know.) but it grew on me in the end. There definitely wasn't enough seafood though and it was a bit soggy.
Japchae- this was wonderfully seasoned, prolly the best part of the meal.
Grilled meats and veg.
Hot stone bowl.
w. lots of spicy sauce
Egg fried rice. I don't think I'll go back to Myung-Ga again. The service was poor and I've had better food.
Vienetta for dessert.
Rise and shine cupcake. It's time for a workout then class.
Muesli, cereal, dark choco chips w. strawberry and vanilla yogurt mixed together w. a big, HUGE cup of coffee on the side.

Congrats to the Packers. Super Bowl champs. and for Christina Aguilera for flubbing the national anthem. Who does that!?!?!

Al DeLory

Wholemeal pancakes with dark choco chips and scrambled eggs
with a handful of blueberries for double the antioxidants (blueberries & dark choco chips). This will help keeping my youthful appearance :-D

Lunch after Zumba class:

Last night I went to a charity dance/performance event to raise money and awareness for anti-slavery.  My attempt to take pictures of the dance performance was a big FAIL. It was a beautifully scripted salsa dance though!

Lunch this afternoon: Breton chicken with spinach

and LOTS of siracha. ;). Trying to stay focused today. 2 more weeks til my advanced personal training exam and practical!!

Me gusta, I love, LuRRRRVE this song.

Run as fast as the wind...

Actually.. it is quite hard to run when the wind is blowing you backwards. I tried but ultimately couldn't stomach more than 20 some odd minutes.
Lunch: Why mess with a good thing? I only made slight variations to my chicken tortilla wraps. I sauteed some onions and topped with beets and chive n onion cottage cheese.
Cottage cheese is a good low fat substitute to regular full fat cheese. I think it almost tastes better than regular cheese in some instances.
I also added in some sauteed spinach along w. the onions for more of a vegetable centered lunch.
a messy but very healthy and hearty wrap.

Dinner: http://www.thewhiteswanlondon.com/
started off with some tomato bread. hot outta da oven.
My appetizer was scallops with cauliflower puree and glazed baby onions. Savory and delish!
Oxtail ravioli with swiss chard, shallot rings, and onion puree. The broth was very slurpable :)
Braised veal shin, orzo, saffron, and gremolata. I didn't particular think this dish was anything special. I felt like I could make it myself (minus the very tender veal). Such a disappointment after my wonderful starter.
Wild boar pie with cabbage on the side. I thought the cabbage was a bit out of place. The pie didn't really have much inside besides the meat. It should have had some sort of vegetable to make it more hearty.

Curly kale and mashed potatoes for sides.

the dessert was the highlight of the meal. Bread pudding with orange marmalade ice cream. The bread was moist and syrupy.
I ended the night with new reading material: Eat, Pray, Love. I've seen the movie but I heard the book was so much better. I'm just a few pages in but I can already tell it's going to be hard to put down.
Afternoon agenda: zumba & belly dance classes then its salsa night to support a great cause of anti-slavery. A small step in the right direction.

Lady A

Breakfast yesterday consisted of two sunny side up eggs on whole wheat toast.

Lunch:
Quinoa is such an easy grain to make. Use 2 parts water to 1 part quinoa, boil, and simmer for 10 minutes.
It has a crunchy and slight nutty taste to it. It's a nice variation from the usual brown rice.

I sauteed some peppers with some store bought packaged chicken.
Whole wheat tortillas with pepper/chix mix, cottage cheese, quinoa, and siracha.

I also had it for dinner. Part deux. YUM!
Snack time: Uni to the far left (HEAVEN!!!!), leftover pajun to the top right, scallop with spicy mayo and a maki sushi bite with some kimchee on the side. Oh man, I'm so Korean!!
Smoothie breakfast this morning before I get my study on...
Into the Vitamix:
  • spinach
  • activia strawberry/vanilla yogurt
  • ice cubes
  • frozen berries
  • banana
  • agave nectar
  • skim milk
  • toppings: cereal, muesli, raisins, dark chocolate chips, sunflower seeds
