Perfect combinations

We made our own french fries!
Dooood! I love our new deep fryer
Sadly, the only contribution I made to last night's dinner was cutting of the potatoes and cleaning.
Patiently waiting for the chicken to fry.. Waiting is always the hardest part..
Double fried baby.
K.F.C. I think I died and went to heaven. Yummy!!!
Looks like I caught someone red handed!
So delicious that I even took a solo picture!

Mini fried chicken breast bites
...dipped in spicy mayo sauce..Before we started frying everything, I was very hesitant thinking about how bad frying is for you but after tasting everything I was wondering what to fry next ! Maybe a snickers bar? a twinkie?? I think I remember reading somewhere that fried foods are as addicting as drugs. It's like CRACK! lol..okay not THAT extreme but I can definitely see the comparison.

We met up w. friends for breakfast at the Modern Pantry this morning:
We almost had this room to ourselves. http://www.themodernpantry.co.uk/

Chocolate croissant
T's smoked salmon with yuzu hollandaise sauce. I had a bite and it was really good!! The yuzu hollandaise was a nice touch to the standard sauce.
My winning bacon and waffle dish. I wanted something different this morning than the standard eggs and toast breakfast and boy was I glad I went this route!!
Waffles and bacon= the perfect sweet and salty combination. I made sure every single bite had a bit of waffle and bacon. Absolutely diivine!! ***Not for the lovers of crispy bacon*** this bacon was soft and chewy. My favorite style of bacon!

We stopped by Chapel Market before heading home for a little sweet treat.

Nutella and banana. Talk about a day of perfect combinations. Good way to start a Saturday!

KFC... not to be mistaken with Kentucky!

Dinner was a bit random last night. T and I split a burger and some cauliflower/brocolli cheesy mash with leftover salmon and quinoa from my lunch earlier.
Dessert was decadent and delicious: White chocolate creme filled pastry. O.M.G. So good!
Breakfast was more of the same: Half a sesame seed bagel w. yogurt and fruit!
Perfect fill me up for my Zumba session this morning!
 Lunch:
Oven baked chicken seasoned w. cayenne pepper, salt, and garlic powder
 Sauteed peppers

It all tasted great! I love healthy lunches :)

So excited for tonights plan: We're making Korean Fried Chicken in our new fryer and I'm making the hubby watch the Scream trilogy before we go see Scream 4 later this weekend. Can you believe he's never even seen the first one?! I was ob--sessed back in the day w. Scream. Holler back to 1996 baby.

Ukai Sushi

Soft shell crab tempura @ Ukai Sushi.
Omelette nigiri for two. Ukai Sushi is where all the hip and cool kids eat at :P. They even had a DJ!
Tuna tataki
Tuna and avocado roll w. inoki mushrooms.
Salmon, cream cheese, and herb-y maki roll. It was alright.. the herbs definitely masked the salmon. I could barely taste anything!

Breakfast:

Wholegrain 1/2 bagel w. garlic light cream cheese
Yogurt bowl w. raspberries, strawberries, and grapes
Lunch was a bed of rocket and chard with quinoa and oven baked salmon

My sweet tooth is crazy this week!
eaten straight outta da carton! Mmmm....okie back to Zumba!

Can't wait for the release of Scream 4 AND Water for Elephants. The trailer makes the anticipation even harder!!

bread pudding

Bread pudding for breakfast anyone? Bueller??..
Hot Diggity Dawg! Most brillant breakfast idea ever. I got the recipe off allrecipes.com. I used the leftover bauguette we had from the picnic. The picnic is the picnic that keeps on giving!
http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/bread-pudding-ii/Detail.aspx The top looks a bit more burnt than it tasted but it was very yummy, all gooey and warm in the middle
The best part was that the house smelled like cinnamon the entire morning :)
I may not may have helped myself to a second slice w. seeds and germ on top. :P
I love these innocent smoothies. So delicious and I don't have to mess up my blender.

Lunch: leftovers yet again!

I swear I've eaten all the turkey/soba noodles I had left this week.
I'm so excited about my coconut water. It has lots of potassium and is great for rehydration. Now if only I can start running again, maybe it will come in handy! lol...
Salsa time!!

Trying something new..

This has to be the oddest combination for dinner I've ever had. Last night's dinner was weird but surprisingly just what I wanted.
Sweet potato fries seasoned w. evoo, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper, baked beans, and already cooked shrimp from Marks and Sparks (leftovers from the picnic)

My life lately has consisted of Breakfast, Zumba, Lunch, Zumba, rest, Dinner, catch up on TV
Aranciata makes life all better!
and roasted veggies for lunch

Mid afternoon protein smoothie w. extra raspberries for that lovely pink color!
Injera bread; a sour tasting flat bread that you use to scoop up the food.
I finally had Ethiopian food tonight. I was super excited to try something different and something I've never had before! and shh... I was also secretly excited about having an excuse to eat w. my hands. Who can say they ever got permission to eat with their fingers at the dinner table. Woo hoo!
The injera looks and tastes spongy in texture. I really liked it!
They also place the food onto the Injera so it has a chance to soak up the different flavors of the food while we eat off of it.
We ordered a spicy lamb, chicken, and vegetable dish. The flavors were all very unique and tasty. My mouth was on FIRE!
Lamb sambusa
T demonstrating how to use the Injera bread to eat the food. Yum!
