Trying something new..

This has to be the oddest combination for dinner I've ever had. Last night's dinner was weird but surprisingly just what I wanted.
Sweet potato fries seasoned w. evoo, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper, baked beans, and already cooked shrimp from Marks and Sparks (leftovers from the picnic)

My life lately has consisted of Breakfast, Zumba, Lunch, Zumba, rest, Dinner, catch up on TV
Aranciata makes life all better!
and roasted veggies for lunch

Mid afternoon protein smoothie w. extra raspberries for that lovely pink color!
Injera bread; a sour tasting flat bread that you use to scoop up the food.
I finally had Ethiopian food tonight. I was super excited to try something different and something I've never had before! and shh... I was also secretly excited about having an excuse to eat w. my hands. Who can say they ever got permission to eat with their fingers at the dinner table. Woo hoo!
The injera looks and tastes spongy in texture. I really liked it!
They also place the food onto the Injera so it has a chance to soak up the different flavors of the food while we eat off of it.
We ordered a spicy lamb, chicken, and vegetable dish. The flavors were all very unique and tasty. My mouth was on FIRE!
Lamb sambusa
T demonstrating how to use the Injera bread to eat the food. Yum!

Karavas

Minestrone soup @ The Spaghetti House. The soup looks really good with all those veggies but it needed lots of pepper and salt and I still don't think it tasted that great.

Calamari
T's garlic shrimp and pistachio pasta
My spaghetti bolognese. The food was alright but the service was TERRIBLE! It took forever for the food to arrive and we were left with empty water glasses. Hmph.. chalk it up to London service!

Dinner was @ Karavas. A greek restaurant in Camden.

We ordered the fish meza platter.
Everything was delicious!

My humongo plate
grilled fish platter with some calamari and fried sardines. "Hey, why are their onion rings on the plate?"- oops!! hehehe
Feta salad
Greek delights!

Another omelette for breakfast filled with tomatoes, onions, and cilantro.

You can kinda taste the omelette below all the seeds! :P

Leftovers for lunch w. some sparkling juice.

Zumba song of the day: "Cuando Pasara"- Menudo

Sunny day atop Primrose Hill

Honestly, this is the sloppiest picnic spread I've seen in my life. Shame you can't really make out anything because there was lots of good stuff. We had baguettes, German bread, cheeses, jams, chips, guacamole, spicy sausages, shrimp, sandwiches, hummus, cupcakes, and prosciutto along with lots of beverages. Since making the decision to lower my alcohol consumption; I've discovered a lot of different fruity beverages that I missed out on while drinking lots of..uhm..beer and wine :) I had some sparking elderflower and grape juice. Yum!
It was such a beautiful sunny day on top of Primrose Hill. It was also a bit chilly towards the end. My legs were frreeezing! Grrrr.. I blame my poor circulation for that one!!
A perfect day for a nap as well.

T made Earl Grey cupcakes from the Hummingbird cupcakes cookbook. They turned out delicious albeit a little smooooooshed.

After spending about 4 hours on top of Primrose, we can back home and watched Marley and Me with some delivery pizza
Veggie pizza

w. some garlic bread
and bbq wings..
Whaddu looking at?! I was trying to get a picture of Sonoma intently staring at T patiently waiting for some food.

Breakfast this morning was some toast w. crunchy peanut butter, blackcurrent jam, and seeds w. wheat germ on top.
It's another glorious day out in the L-town hood. I'm going to go enjoy it :)

Bento Cafe

Miso soup- the soup didn't taste like regular miso soup. It had a bit of acidity to it. Weird.

Octopus fried dough balls
too much dough, not enough octopus!
honey coated chicken wings

Fried chicken strips w. an egg and special sauce on top.

Shrimp tempura roll
Mushroom, basil, and cheese omelette for Breakfast
Off to Primrose Hill for an afternoon in the park with friends :) It's another lovely day for it too!
