Things I miss

Friday's lunch of open faced tuna sandwiches with romaine lettuce on top and a side of sauteed kale and spinach. I was only able to make it through one piece of bread. Future note for next time. My eyes are definitely bigger than my stomach!!
Snack of salsa and mashed up avocados
with some tortilla chips. I missed Baked Lays.
Hmm.... what else do I miss right now..
The Chicago skyline. There's nothing like driving up Ohio street and seeing the tall lit up city lights. So fucking beautiful!
the craziness that surrounds Wrigley. A sea of blue and red
Working out to Sports Center....or just working out period. I haven't gone to the gym in weeks. I hate my foot.
the sun. lake. warmth.. mmmm...
TJ'S!!!! Gotta love it. Is there anything similar to TJ's here in London????
Portillos and Chicago style hot dogs.
I'm missing all the March Madness action!!! I just can't seem to get into football aka soccer. It's a fun game and all but I have no personal attachments to it.

I'll be back in the states in May. Can't wait!!
Dinner on Friday: Papa Johns
Thin crust chicken bbq pizza.
Garden veggie pizza. We vegged out on the TV and watched some True Blood and Top Chef. We're down to the final 5! I'm rooting for Antonia :)
T made another mmm mmm delicious omelette with a side of fried halloumi cheese.
Peppers and cheese omelette on top of half a bagel.
Another brother and sister cooking lesson. On the menu: Thai food
Wonton wrapped shrimp dumplings
Yellow chicken curry
Shrimp and Tofu pad thai
Chicken curry on the pot!
The pad thai was delicious. My only regret was the portion size was too small for the 5 of us!
One fried and one steamed with sweet chili dipping sauce. I preferred the fried one :o) YUMM!!!
The chicken curry was spot on. It was very flavorful and just the right amount of spiceyness for everyone.

Chop Chop chinese for dinner:
thai style seafood vermicelli noodle soup. We always get this dish here because it is just that good. Coconut spicy soup with prawns and fishcakes.
Veggie spring rolls
Prawn fried rice.

Time to relax. Catch up on some Real Housewives and study!!

Mon pied fait mal

There's nothing more frustrating than an injury that just won't go away. My foot is most definitely injured. Most likely sprained. What a setback. :(
T convinced me to wrap it up! I'm seriously such a stubborn cookie. If I thought it could go away on its own, I would keep walking on it normally but enough is enough! Time to let it rest.

Some of the recent days eats:
Mixture of tuna, corn, peas, olives, mayo, and siracha
on some wholemeal bread and romaine lettuce.

Dinner @ Belgos
I'll always stick to Chimay's when I go to Belgos. Such flavorful beers. Mmm...
A pot of marinere mussels with some chips

Lunch:
A bagel sandwich with some roasted carrots and parsnips.
The vegetables were roasted in EVOO, salt, pepper, and honey. I love the sweetness honey imparts on roasted veggies. Delish!

Unhealthy but easy dinner last night: RAMEN!!
A little birdie surprised me with breakfast this morning. YUM!

Garlic and cheese omelette on half a bagel.

Time to get my study on!

Rum tasting

Veggies and I have a love relationship right now. I heart Bok Choy!!
I sauteed the veggies in my usual soy sauce and sesame oil mixture along w. a bagel turkey sandwich.
We went to a Milk and Honey rum tasting last night. They had a free tasting event every first Tuesday of the month for members and 1 guest. I love being a plus one :)
They started us off with a Bacardi daiquiri while the guest speaker prepared to give his little schpeal on the history of RUM.
While he was talking, he passed around 6 different bottles of rum. A bit dangerous to let guests pour their own measure dontcha think? The first one had hints of vanilla and coffee.

The second one tasted like canned corn. It reminded me of the sugar and corn fields we drove past almost every day in Hawaii.

Third.
Fourth.
Fifth
and last but certainly not least: the 8 year aged Bacardi. The tasting was a unique way to try different rums straight instead of mixers that mask the true taste. That being said, I think I still prefer my mojitos :)

By the time we were finished with the tasting, I was feeling warm and hungry!! We stopped at Don San for dinner. I justified eating past 9 p.m. since I hadn't eaten any dinner prior to going to M&H.
The pajun had a very nice taste to it and it included plenty of seafood. YUMMY!!
Side dishes
T just had to have his sushi. It was mediocre. I definitely wouldn't come back here for the sushi.
T's bibimbap with thinly sliced pieces of raw beef that slightly cooks in the hot hot hot stone bowl.
My sundubuchigae. It was lovely and perfectly spicy.

Time to finish up my outdoor circuit programme!
