Bikini Strap workout

Dontaksu! I love me some fried pork! It was unusually good. Or maybe I just hadn't had it in forever
Sushi set- Yumm-O!
The rolls were delicious. Don't ask me what they were.
Eel over rice
Breakfast this morning- yogurt bowl w. wheatgerm, ground seeds, walnuts, agave nectar, and raisins.

Morning workout: Zumba and the Bikini strap workout!

Forever Love

Even though we never met,
I know your face by heart.

Even though we never spoke,
I can hear your voice.

Even though I never held you,
I feel your weight in my arms.

Even though we'll never lie beneath the same stars,
you will always shine above us.

Rainy Wednesday

Leftovers for lunch yesterday.
healthy mid-afternoon snack. This time I added in some walnuts for extra protein.
Beef in red wine sauce. I experimented with a new recipe. I sort of halved the recipe and hoped for the best (my recipes never taste right when I seem to chop it in half!)
I'm not going to lie, it didn't look or taste ALL that great. Bummer!
Post salsa dancing dessert fix provided by the hubby. Cake with strawberry and chocolate filling with a chocolate dipped strawberry on top. It was muy delicioso!! :-D
T made us another omelette this morning. It was filled with cheddar cheese, shallots, and garlic.
with some wholemeal toast.

Lunch after my Zumba workout
I heart drinking my apple juice out of a wine glass :P
leftovers with some roasted veggies on top. The roasted veggies were simply dressed with EVOO, salt, and pepper. Yum!
Someone wants to play. Peace!

Anchovie fillets anyone?

Breakfast yesterday morning: Wholewheat toast with almond butter and blackcurrant jam. Bananas and ground seeds on top!
Random mix of meats, hummus, pita, quinoa, and veggies. Lebanese leftovers from the other night. It wasn't particularly good but I was waiting on an Ocado delivery order and had nothing better to eat!
Glass of apple juice on the side :)
Snack mid afternoon: sliced organic strawberries, plain yogurt, agave nectar for added sweetness, and a tablespoon of wheatgerm on top.
More snacks mid afternoon: I was hangry!! Pretzels with salsa
Dinner was very weiird last night. I had an odd thought of putting together wholewheat pasta with premade bolognese sauce and mixed in peas, basil leaves, and anchovie fillets. I read somewhere that anchovies are a good source of protein, vitamins and minerals as well as being heart healthy so I figured I would give it a shot.  They made my pasta a tad too salty so I think next time I'll rinse them prior to mixing it in the sauce.
A sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Breakfast this morning: Wholemeal pancakes w. dark chocolate chips

and no, we didn't have any Ferrero Rocher with breakfast. Woulda been nice though
Mine with strawberries and sprinkled ground seeds on top. You can barely taste the ground seeds and it provides a lovely texture as well as giving you a boost of Omega-3,6, and 9. Yum!

I already jump started my morning with a Zumba workout and now I think I'll read a little bit!

Song of the day: Marc Anthony "Celos". Voice Swoooooon!!

Kimbap

We went to Seoul Bakery yesterday after church for some Korean grub. Kimbap- the korean version of a sushi roll: rice, pickled radish, spinach, egg, carrots, and beef. The perfect protein, carb, and veggie combo. Kapow! :-D
Blurry bibimbap
T is mixin in the hot sauce ferociously! We both like it spicy.
My soondubuchigae.
It had a really nice kick to it.
T also had the chicken udon soup.

My pictures are a bit out of order. Dinner Saturday night was delivery florentina pizza.
Thin crust pizza you fold and enjoy. Yummy!!
Arancini balls. Fried rice and cheese balls. They weren't very good :(
Dessert was fantastic. It was a honeycomb cheesecake with crunchie pieces. The cheesecake bit wasn't overly sweet and it had a perfect balance of sweet and savory with the crust.

Breakfast Sunday morning was scrambeled eggs with rice and lentils
Dinner Sunday night was @ Thai Aubergine. We started off with the tempura vegetable dish with sweet chili sauce to dip. Who doesn't like fried vegetables? I like vegetables in all forms!
http://thaiaubergine.co.uk/
Veggie spring rolls: crispy and VERY hot on the inside. Eat with caution. Delicious tho!
Prawn curry. Mmm.. this was my favorite dish of the night. The curry was amaaaazeeeeeeee--baaalls! It was sweet and had that perfect coconut flavor. Wowza. Yes. More of that please.
EGG FRIED RICE!
Prawn pad thai.
Coconut rice. The rice was sticky and very fluffy.
Beef randang. The sauce wasn't very flavorful so I was a bit disappointed with this dish.
Mixed seafood dish.
Salmon curry. We wolfed down everything and ordered two more rice. I would definitely recommend Thai Aubergine. I will be going back for sure!
We got flowers and chocolates!
I luurve flowers :-D They make me so happy and anxious for summer!

Blessings:
  • I've somehow managed my caffeine addiction and haven't had a cup of coffee in two weeks. Praise the Lord!!

  • Visit to the States coming up in a month
  • Everyone is in good health and spirits :)

Restaurant Week

It was a beautiful night in London last night. It's really beginning to feel like SPRING!!
We were in the Mayfair area. I love it. It reeks of opulance and money money monnneeeey! Hey, it's nice to pretend every once in a while :-D
We've ARRIVED! It's restaurant week in London. Fine dining at prix fixe prices. I dig it.
Dipping sauces for the Pappadoms
cute little bite size pieces :)
My drink: Passionfruit, lemon, kiwi juice. Tart, sweet, and delicious!
Organic hake and garlic cakes with mushy peas and beetroots. Flaky and crispy.. Yum!
Tandoori chicken with spinach rice. This was an amazing dish. The chicken was tender and had that wonderful tandoori smokey taste to it with a tomato based sauce on bottom.
with naan for dipping
Mango and pistachio kulfi. It's like ice cream but a bit icier, sort of like sorbet.
Petit fours to share!
Breakfast: scrambeled eggs with wholewheat toast

After breakfast, I went to the gym to do some weights. Today's focus was Bis/Tris.

Lunch: Another restaurant week menu at Gordon Ramsey's The Warrington.
http://www.gordonramsay.com/thewarrington/
Hers: Split pea soup w. real bacon chunks!! I don't mean fake London "bacon" which is more like canadian ham but real American bacon pieces! Mmmm..
His: beet salad with goat cheese
shoulder of lamb, mashed potatoes, and spinach all smothered in delicious gravy. Comfort food for the soul
Hazelnut and brown sugar slice with champagne poached rhubarb. The hazelnut slice was nice but I wasn't digging the sour rhubarb flavor.
Apple crumble. Sweeeetness. Great way to end the meal :)
